Pasture Raised Eggs at Clover Creek Farm
Why we don’t wash our eggs
We prefer to eat eggs that haven’t been washed with chemicals and we want to provide you with the same egg… as natural as possible.
By not washing the eggs the protective egg bloom isn’t washed away. This natural egg bloom protects the eggs naturally from any bacteria entering through the egg shell.
No egg at Clover Creek Farm is washed with chemicals. Instead we do all we can to collect the eggs clean from the hens by using roll-away nest boxes and keeping the nest boxes as clean as possible.

What exactly is the egg bloom?
The egg bloom is the invisible outermost covering on an egg and is the last part of the shell put on before the hen lays the egg.
This coating seals the shell pores, prevents bacteria from getting inside the shell, and reduces moisture loss from the egg.
These are all things designed to make the egg last longer.
Are Pasture Raised Eggs Healthier?
Research shows that pasture raised eggs contain higher amounts of beneficial Omega-3, vitamin A and E (double in fact – source) compared to hens in sheds eating only commercial feed.
Other health benefits of eggs are numerous including: protein, vitamin D, K, folate, vitamin B2, B5, B6, B12, calcium and zinc.
So much goodness in such a little package!

Delicious vibrant eggs, best had in a long time.
