The Farm

Where is Clover Creek Farm?

We’re at Myponga, South Australia on the Fleurieu Coast.

We are a small family farm on 80 acres of rolling hills with the beautiful Myponga River flowing through the lower part of the farm.

What’s our aim?

  • Farm as naturally as possible (no added chemicals)
  • Produce nutrient dense pasture-raised eggs & meat
  • Deliver this tasty produce to you as fresh as possible

How do we raise our hens?

The hens have continual access to pasture so they can scratch and peck at their leisure. They are supplemented with non GMO, soy free feed. The mobile hen house is always open to allow constant fresh air and as much time as they want out in the grass and sunshine, reducing stress and disease. We’ve never given them a single antibiotic or drug.

The hens are protected from foxes by a large moveable electric fence. The hens huddle in close at night in their mobile hen house, which is moved weekly so the hens can enjoy fresh pasture whilst being close to home.

Hens raised outdoors on pasture naturally get more goodness from the pasture creating more nutrient dense eggs.

How do we raise our cows?

Our cows are 100% grass fed on chemical free pasture.

The cows birth calves once a year. The cow and calf together are rotated regularly around the farm giving them fresh grass to graze.

The breed is Speckle Park, which mostly have a beautiful black and white speckle on their coat. However some are all black and some all white. It’s always a surprise when they are born!

We think the Speckle Park breed creates superb tasting beef!

How do we care for the land?

We love wildlife so we’ve planted 1000’s of new trees and shrubs to attract wildlife and increase biodiversity.

Taking care of the land also involves building healthy soil and a big part of that is the pasture-raised hens and cows that move across the farm spreading manure, scratching and pecking (hens only!). They really do wonderful things for the soil.

And then we allow the land to rest and soak up nutrients left behind by the animals and to regrow fresh, green pasture – no artificial chemicals needed!

In choosing pasture-raised produce you play a vital role in restoring health to the soil and earth.

Thank you!

About Us

Hi, we’re Nick and Ruth, the owners and operators of Clover Creek Farm.

We moved to this beautiful piece of farm land in 2019.

Hens were never part of our big picture. We intended to just raise a few hens to have enough eggs for our family to eat, but then we saw the amazing way they can be raised on pasture – thanks to Daniel at Chicken Caravan!

We are passionate about farming in a way that helps the land to thrive naturally, and hens are a big part of the process.

We have been inspired by regenerative farmers around the world and are learning as we go. We love having the chance to work in the beautiful outdoors (though not as much when it’s freezing cold and windy!!) 😉
